Florianopolis
is the capital and 2nd biggest city of the “Santa Catarina” state; it is situated
in the South part of Brazil. It is having one major island that is called “Island
of Santa Catarina”, a central part and the adjacent minor islands. It is having
a population of about “461,524”. It is the 2nd most populated city
in this state and it is on number 47th in Brazil. The urban part has a
population of around “1,111,702” that means it is the 21st biggest in the
country. Florianopolis city is famous for having a very high quality of life.
The History of “Florianopolis”:
Indians of
the state “Tupi-Guarani” were the first residents of Florianopolis. The hints
of its presence are confirmed from archaeological sites. After that many people
arrived here and developed the city. Different people gave different names to
the city but finally it got the name “Florianopolis”.
With the arriving
of the Captaincy, the people began to grow, however the excessive population
growth occurred between 1747 and 1756, with the coming of around 6000 immigrants
from the Archipelago of “Azores”, and some came from the “Madeira Island”.

Climate and Weather of Florianopolis:
Florianopolis has a warm moist climate. The seasons in the year are different,
like a good winter and summer, and typical weather for spring and autumn. Cold
is rare, but occurs sometimes in the winter. Because of the closeness of the
sea, the average moisture of the atmosphere is 80%.
The max temperature of the warmest
month ranges between 25 °C and 38.8 °C, while the min temperature ranges
between 6 °C and 11 C. But the lowest temperature recorded here was
0.7 °C in the month of September, however the highest temperature recorded
here was 38.8 °C in the month of February.
Rain is abundant

rain fall nearly 8 inches in the month of February But in all other months, the average rainfall
