Natal is the capital and biggest city of the state Rio Grande do Norte, which is a northeastern state in Brazil. In July, 2009, the city had an overall population of 950,820.
The main hotels of the capital city are here to spend holiday in Natal. It has few tourist attractions as well, and is famous and well-known for its natural beauty, its historical monuments and buildings, and its beaches.


History of Natal:


Natal was constructed on the right bank of river called Potenji, the place where the river run into the Atlantic; the soil of Natal is very sandy, with mounds and havens protected by ridges which appear all along the beach line.
According to history of Natal, in the month of Dec, 1597, a navy instructed by Jeronimo de Albuquerque reached to the river Potenji, with the projects of establishing a new city and constructing a fortress to safeguard the Portuguese settlement and never let come the Frenchmen, who wanted to do business with the potiguares, native Indians. At this time, a group headed by “Manuel Mascarenhas Homem”, the governor of Pernambuco, attained to the region by land. On 6th of January 1598, those men started to construct the Fortress of Three Wise Kings.
On 25th of December, 1599, a minor village was established one mile away from the fortress; and this village was entitled as “Natal”. Actually “Natal” is a Portuguese name used for Christmas. The city then settled gradually; in a different way from Pernambuco.


Geography and Climate of Natal:


Natal is the beautiful capital of “Rio-Grande-do-Norte” state. Geographically Natal is the bordering point of Brazil to Europe, America and Africa. Natal is located at “5°46′S 35°12′W / 5.767°S 35.2°W”.  Natal is situated in the northeastern landfill of Brazil. It lies nearly six degrees south of the equator. It’s geography improves to the beauty and charm of South-America. It is the city of north-east Brazil on the ‘Atlantic Ocean’.
Natal has a usual hot climate, specially a humid wet and dry climate. The Natal’s weather ranges from warm to hot and high absolute humidity all over the year. Though, these conditions are pleased by a near lack of extreme temperatures and pleasing winds wafting from the ocean. The month of February is the warmest, with max temp of 31 °C or 88 °F and min temp can be of 24 °C or 75 °F, while the coolest month is July, with mean max temp of 28 °C or 82 °F and min temp of 21 °C or 69 °F. Rainfall is huge at nearby “1,465” millimeters per year, however there comes a dry period between the month of September and January. On the other hand, the weather is not so dry as to prevent the growth of stifling rainforest and the sugar cane.
Natal is also known as the city of Sun and it is also called The City of the Dunes. It is situated in the northeastern landfill of Brazil. So usually Natal’s temperature is around 27 °C. Through in the summer period it reaches above 30 °C. The maximum quantity of rain falls in between March & July.

There are a lot of things to do Natal; it is a bright, clean and rather bland city that has enhanced as a core for seaside package tourism.
Its main attractions and charms are buggy rides, touristic beaches, restaurants and other organized excursions and nightlife.
Most tourists stay in the seaside neighborhood of “Ponta Negra” that is an outstanding location, overlooked by amazing mounds, with stable surf and some enjoyable nightlife.
