        A visit/tour to Gramado Brazil Complete Guide


Gramado is a metropolis and small town for tourists, it is situated in the southern state of Brazil, the “Rio Grande do Sul”. The city was initially established by Azorean descendants. It later received a reliant of Italian and German migrants. Gramado is one of the cities beside the fascinating route known as “Rota Romântica” also called Romantic Route.


History of “Gramado”:


Gramado was identified during the colonial era as a worthy place to relaxation and feed the animals that the troops took from the Grasslands to the pits in the Brazilian State of “Minas-Gerais”. After ending 1850th year, the first Central European colonists started to come to Southern Brazil. The Germans first started living in lower lands but then progressed upwards to the high lands of “Rio Grande do Sul”. Soon after, the Italians also came to this region, and established many cities. The most important among them was “Caxias do Sul”.
Gramado was also influenced by the Italian and German immigrants. Though, its first residents were Portuguese. Here the first train started in 1921, and it formally became a village in 1937, when it was earlier known as a summer holiday resort”. It then became a significant trading Centre, which delivered wine, wood, sausages and cheese to the nearby cities. After that many tourists took interest in visiting Gramado, and so it was called the 'Brazilian Switzerland'. Many hotels were also constructed there and business grew even more. And In the year “2008” Gramado was visited by 2.5 million visitors.


Geography of “Gramado”:


Gramado city is in the range of mountains, it is located 850 meters above the sea level.
It has some green parts, in which the most important are Communications Square, Black Lake, Orchard Park, Knorr Park, and Roses Square.

“Lago Negro” is the most famous and beautiful green area of Gramado. It was formed in the year 1953 by “Leopoldo Rosenfeld”.
Rosenfeld also brought pine seedlings from “Black-Forest” of Germany to be implanted all around the recently made lake's rim.
“Lago Negro” is a 1-2 kilometers away from ‘Town Hall’. 


Climate and weather of “Gramado”:


According to the climate of Gramado, the summers are not so hot, and Gramado’s temperature usually doesn’t surpass 30 °C. However winters are cool, and then its temperature decreases to 0 °C and sometimes it goes below 0, with fairly common frosts and rare snow-falls.

Winter:
The high season of Gramado is winter. Which is between the months of June and September, The people here also like to experience the cold that rarely comes. During that time the hotels becomes very expensive and also the local attractions are demanding.
In the month of August the “Gramado Film Festival” takes place, which is one of the biggest festivals in Brazil.

Spring and summer:
During the months of October and November there is Spring season in Gramado which is the lovely time to have a tour of it, In this season the Gramado’s temperature start to rise upto 20 °C, while at night time temperature becomes warm to about 15 °C. You can have showers at any time.
Between the months of January and March is the summer season in the city, and it is the city's noiseless season. It is a hot season, with high temperature of about 27 °C, but sometimes temperature rises above the 30 °C. However at night time the temperature decreases to about18 °C which is then comfortable.


Attractions and things to do in Gramado:


There are a wide range of unbelievable attractions and have natural beauty to spend holidays in Gramado. There are also so many things enjoy by the adults and children alike. All of the beauty and attractions here have a European touch.
In Gramado's surrounding areas, you can visit the amazing places like “the Park of the Snail”. Another natural charm near Gramado is the beautiful and fascinating “Canion do Itaimbezinho”. It is counted in the most significant canyon in South America.
People can also go to the numerous wine houses in this area, because it is one of the major wine making areas in Brazil.
There are also many other things to do in Gramado, Like a unique fascination for the people here is a “miniature city” where children can love transportation, windmills, lakes, churches, some traditional houses and even the castles.
There are also many fascinating museums having antiques.
